Playback controls

Play long-form audio, change speed, use the sleep timer, save progress, and choose per-show preferences.

Audely’s player is designed for long episodes and listening that moves between devices.

Start playing

Choose an episode from Home, a show, an episode list, search, or the queue. Audely records progress as playback advances and restores the saved position when you return.

Player controls

  • Play or pause the current episode.
  • Skip backward or forward using the available transport controls.
  • Seek by moving through the progress control.
  • Change playback speed for the current show.
  • Start a sleep timer to stop after a duration or at the end of the episode.
  • Open the queue to review or change what plays next.
  • Open chapters when the source file contains embedded chapter markers.

Playback speed

Choose a speed from the player’s speed control. Audely can remember a show-specific speed so spoken-word programmes with different pacing do not require the same setting.

Sleep timer

Open the sleep timer from the player’s available controls and choose a duration or an end-of-episode option. Cancel it from the same control when you want playback to continue normally.

Progress and played state

Audely saves the current position and completion state in its local library. If sync is enabled, playback restore state can follow your episode across devices.

System playback controls

Mac

Use Audely’s player bar and supported system media commands. The Mac experience also provides richer library management around playback.

iPhone and iPad

Playback appears in system Now Playing surfaces and works with supported lock-screen, Control Centre, route, and volume controls.
