Cloud backups and restore
Use Audely Pro cloud backups as versioned recovery points for library metadata, transcripts, artwork, and listening state.
Audely Pro cloud backups protect the library around your source audio. They are designed for recovery, while sync is designed for everyday continuity.
What a backup contains
A backup can include supported show and episode metadata, artwork, transcripts, playback state, favourites, and preferences. It does not contain source audio, device-specific folder permissions, or absolute file locations.
Create a backup
Open Settings › Backup and use the manual backup action. Audely Pro can also maintain versioned recovery points on its configured daily or weekly cadence.
Audely keeps a limited recent history rather than an unlimited archive. Current planning retains the latest five recovery points.
Restore a backup
- Open Settings › Backup.
- Select the recovery point you want to inspect.
- Choose Restore and review the confirmation.
- Let Audely apply the restored library information.
- Relink source folders on the current device if their local access is missing.
Why source folders may need relinking
Folder permissions belong to one device and are intentionally excluded from backup data. After reinstalling or restoring on another device, link the folder that contains the matching audio.
Sync compared with backup
- Sync keeps current library changes moving between devices.
- Backup preserves recent recovery points in case a current change should be undone.
Both use the signed-in iCloud account, but they solve different problems.
